Abstract
A liquid discharge device includes a head, a holding portion, a cap, and a second fixing member. The head includes a first surface configured to discharge liquid. The holding portion holds the head. The cap is fixed to the head using a removable first fixing member and covers the first surface. The second fixing member fixes the head and the holding portion.

A liquid discharge device comprising:
- a head comprising a first surface configured to discharge liquid;
- a holding portion configured to hold the head;
- a first fixing member for fixing a cap that is configured to be removable and to cover the first surface to the head;
- and
- a second fixing member configured to fix the head and the holding portion.

An assembly method for a liquid discharge device, comprising:
- mounting a cap to a head that comprises a first surface configured to discharge liquid, the cap covering the first surface;
- fixing the head to which the cap is mounted to a holding portion;
- and
- removing the cap from the head that is fixed to the holding portion.
