## Abstract

The present disclosure relates to methods for treating viral infections in a patient.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of treating a viral infection in a patient in need thereof, wherein the method comprises administering to the patient a compound 16:
a deuterated compound thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
wherein the compound 16, the deuterated compound thereof, or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered in a dosage of 350 mg/dose.

### Claim at position 2

-10. (canceled)

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the patient has an eGFR of at least 90 mL/min/1.73 m2.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the patient has normal renal function.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11, further comprising determining that the patient has an eGFR of at least 90 mL/min/1.73 m2 prior to the administration.

### Claim 14 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the compound 16, the deuterated compound thereof, or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered twice daily.

### Claim at position 7

-20. (canceled)

### Claim 21 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the administration results in a mean Cmax of less than 7,000 ng/mL of a compound 1:
or a deuterated compound thereof.

### Claim at position 9

-24. (canceled)

### Claim 25 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the administration results in a mean AUC0-24 of less than 44,000 ng/mL*h of a compound 1:
or a deuterated compound thereof.

### Claim at position 11

-80. (canceled)

### Claim 81 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the compound 16, the deuterated compound thereof, or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered orally.

### Claim 82 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the compound 16, the deuterated compound thereof, or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered for five consecutive days.

### Claim at position 14

-112. (canceled)

### Claim 113 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the viral infection is a coronavirus infection.

### Claim 114 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the viral infection is a Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV) infection, a Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) infection, or a SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID19).

### Claim 115 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the viral infection is a SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID19).

### Claim 116 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the first day of the administration is within 5 days of commencement of symptoms of the viral infection.

### Claim 117

A method of treating a viral infection in a patient in need thereof, wherein the method comprises administering to the patient a compound 16:
a deuterated compound thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
wherein the compound 16, the deuterated compound thereof, or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered orally in a dosage of 350 mg/dose twice daily.

### Claim 118 (depends on 117)

The method of claim 117, wherein the patient has an eGFR of at least 90 mL/min/1.73 m2.

### Claim 119 (depends on 117)

The method of claim 117, wherein the patient has normal renal function.

### Claim 120 (depends on 118)

The method of claim 118, further comprising determining that the patient has an eGFR of at least 90 mL/min/1.73 m2 prior to the administration.

### Claim 121 (depends on 117)

The method of claim 117, wherein the compound 16, the deuterated compound thereof, or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered for five consecutive days.

### Claim 122 (depends on 117)

The method of claim 117, wherein the viral infection is a coronavirus infection.

### Claim 123 (depends on 117)

The method of claim 117, wherein the viral infection is a Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV) infection, a Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) infection, or a SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID19).

### Claim 124 (depends on 117)

The method of claim 117, wherein the viral infection is a SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID19).

### Claim 125 (depends on 117)
