Abstract
A multi-zone media system and method for providing multi-zone media. As a non-limiting example, various aspects of this disclosure provide a system and method that flexibly presents media content (e.g., audio content) to a user as the user moves throughout a premises.

A system, the system comprising:
- a first speaker operable to output a first audio signal synchronously with a second audio signal output from a second speaker, wherein:
- the second speaker is located remotely from the first speaker,
- the first speaker is operable to receive, from a media controller, digital audio data representative of the first audio signal, and
- the digital audio data received by the first speaker is modified according to a location of the first speaker and a location of the second speaker.

A method, the method comprising:
- via a first speaker:
- outputting a first audio signal synchronously with a second audio signal output from a second speaker, wherein the second speaker is located remotely from the first speaker,
- receiving, from a media controller, digital audio data representative of the first audio signal, and
- modifying the digital audio data according to a location of the first speaker and a location of the second speaker.
