Temporary identifiers for network and service access and for transaction recordation

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by a processing system including at least one processor, cause the processing system to perform operations, the operations comprising:

• obtaining at least a first identifier associated with an endpoint device of a user at a location, wherein the obtaining of the at least the first identifier indicates a presence of the endpoint device of the user at the location;
• determining, based on the at least the first identifier, that the user is an authorized participant of at least one service at the location;
• providing an identity token to the endpoint device, wherein the identity token is for use at the location in connection with the at least one service;
• providing to the endpoint device a list of other identity tokens associated with endpoint devices of other users at the location;
• detecting a communication between the endpoint device of the user and an endpoint device of another user of the other users in accordance with the identity token and another identity token, from among the list of other identity tokens;
• and
• recording information characterizing the communication in an electronic ledger associated with the at least one service.

An apparatus comprising:

• a processing system including at least one processor;
• and
• a computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by the processing system, cause the processing system to perform operations, the operations comprising:
• obtaining at least a first identifier associated with an endpoint device of a user at a location, wherein the obtaining of the at least the first identifier indicates a presence of the endpoint device of the user at the location;
• determining, based on the at least the first identifier, that the user is an authorized participant of at least one service at the location;
• providing an identity token to the endpoint device, wherein the identity token is for use at the location in connection with the at least one service;
• providing to the endpoint device a list of other identity tokens associated with endpoint devices of other users at the location;
• detecting a communication between the endpoint device of the user and an endpoint device of another user of the other users in accordance with the identity token and another identity token, from among the list of other identity tokens;
• and
• recording information characterizing the communication in an electronic ledger associated with the at least one service.
