Abstract
An oral care article in form of a strip for use in the oral cavity. The oral care article comprises a solid hydrophobic delivery carrier comprising solid hydrophilic particles comprising a bleaching agent, where the solid hydrophilic particles are embedded in the carrier. The concentration of the bleaching agent at a first surface of the solid delivery carrier is greater than the concentration of the bleaching agent at a second surface of the solid delivery carrier. The concentration of the bleaching agent at the first surface is from about 10 micrograms/cm2 to about 5000 micrograms/cm2.
Claims20
An oral care article comprising:
- a) a solid hydrophobic delivery carrier in a form of a strip having a length and a width forming a first surface and having a thickness extending from the first surface to a second surface;
- and
- b) solid hydrophilic particles comprising a bleaching agent, wherein at least a portion of the solid hydrophilic particles are embedded in the solid hydrophobic delivery carrier partially below the first surface and partially at or above the first surface of the solid hydrophobic delivery carrier,
- wherein a concentration of the bleaching agent at the first surface is greater than a concentration of the bleaching agent at the second surface, and
- wherein the concentration of the bleaching agent at the first surface is from about 10 micrograms/cm2 to about 5000 micrograms/cm2.
A process for making an oral care article, the process comprising:
- providing a solid hydrophobic delivery carrier in a form of a strip having a length and a width forming a first surface and having a thickness extending from the first surface to a second surface;
- applying solid hydrophilic particles comprising a bleaching agent to the first surface of the solid hydrophobic delivery carrier;
- and
- embedding the solid hydrophilic particles into the first surface of the solid delivery carrier,
- wherein a concentration of the bleaching agent at the first surface is from about 10 micrograms/cm2 to about 5000 micrograms/cm2.
