Abstract
An analyte sensor is disclosed. The analyte sensor includes an implantable sensor configured to measure a signal indicative of an analyte concentration in a user and at least one membrane layer. The membrane layer is disposed over at least a portion of the sensor. The membrane includes a membrane polymer matrix including an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer and a therapeutic agent dispersed within the membrane polymer matrix. The membrane layer is permeable to an analyte. Devices and methods for monitoring analytes are also disclosed.
Claims20
An analyte sensor comprising:
- an implantable sensor configured to measure a signal indicative of an analyte concentration in a user;
- and
- at least one membrane layer disposed on at least a portion of the implantable sensor, wherein the membrane layer comprises a membrane polymer matrix including an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer and one or more therapeutic agents dispersed within the membrane polymer matrix, wherein the at least one membrane layer is permeable to an analyte, wherein the ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer has a melt flow index of from about 1 to about 400 grams per 10 minutes as determined in accordance with ASTM D1238-20 at a temperature of 190° C. and a load of 2.16 kilograms.
A method for forming a membrane layer on an analyte sensor, the method comprising:
- disposing a composition comprising a copolymer material, a therapeutic agent, optionally one or more hydrophilic compounds, and a solvent on a surface of the analyte sensor;
- and
- evaporating the solvent to form the membrane layer.
