Abstract
A method for determining a hyper frame number (HFN) of a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity is performed by a terminal device, and includes: receiving indication information sent by a network device, wherein the indication information includes HFN information; and determining a HFN value of the PDCP entity based on the HFN information.

- receiving indication information sent by a network device, wherein the indication information comprises HFN information;
