Publishing disparate live media output streams in mixed mode based on user selection

A method, comprising:

• identifying, by one or more processors, an alternative content option from one or more alternative content options for an existing disparate live media output stream;
• identifying, by the one or more processors, an alternative content manifest corresponding to the alternative content option;
• inserting, by the one or more processors, the alternative content manifest to a live media manifest corresponding to the existing disparate live media output stream to generate an updated disparate live media output stream manifest;
• and
• publishing, by the one or more processors, the updated disparate live media output stream manifest to a content delivery system.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon, computer implemented instructions, that when executed by one or more processors in a computing system, cause the computing system to execute operations, the operations comprising:

• identifying an alternative content option from one or more alternative content options for an existing disparate live media output stream;
• identifying an alternative content manifest corresponding to the alternative content option;
• inserting the alternative content manifest to a live media manifest corresponding to the existing disparate live media output stream to generate an updated disparate live media output stream manifest;
• and
• publishing the updated disparate live media output stream manifest to a content delivery system.
