Abstract
Systems and methods of testing a device for a computer network are disclosed. In some embodiments, a testing scenario is executed on one or more virtual machines (VMs) implemented by at least one computer device so that the one or more VMs generate input data as result of executing the testing scenario. A network device under test (NDUT) runs the testing scenario to generate test result data in response to the input data from the one or more VMs. Whether the NDUT passes the testing scenario is detected based on the test result data.
Claims20
A method of testing a device for a computer network, comprising:
- executing a testing scenario on one or more virtual machines (VMs) implemented by at least one computer device so that the one or more VMs generate input data as a result of executing the testing scenario;
- running a network device under test (NDUT) to generate test result data in response to the input data from the one or more VMs;
- and
- detecting whether the NDUT passes the testing scenario based on the test result data.
An apparatus for testing a device for a computer network, comprising:
- a non-transient computer readable medium that stores computer executable instructions:
- one or more processors, wherein, in response to the one or more processors executing the computer executable instructions, the one or more processors are configured to:
- execute a testing scenario on one or more virtual machines (VMs) so that the one or more VMs generate input data as result of executing a testing scenario;
- run a network device under test (NDUT) to generate test result data in response to the input data from the one or more VMs;
- and
- detect whether the NDUT passes the testing scenario based on the test result data.
A non-transient computer readable medium that stores computer executable instructions wherein, in response to one or more processors executing the computer executable instructions, the one or more processors are configured to:
- execute a testing scenario on one or more virtual machines (VMs) so that the one or more VMs generate input data as result of executing the testing scenario;
- run a network device under test (NDUT) to generate test result data in response to the input data from the one or more VMs;
- and
- detect whether the NDUT passes the testing scenario based on the test result data.
