Abstract
A dielectric waveguide to transmit an electromagnetic signal, comprises: a first conductor region and a second conductor region. The first and second conductor regions extend along a longitudinal axis of the dielectric waveguide, wherein the first conductor region is formed from a first thermoplastic material and the second conductor region is formed from a second thermoplastic material. The first thermoplastic material has a higher effective permittivity than the second thermoplastic material.
Claims20
A dielectric waveguide to transmit an electromagnetic signal, the dielectric waveguide comprising:
- a first conductor region;
- and
- a second conductor region;
- wherein
- the first conductor region and the second conductor region extend along a longitudinal axis of the dielectric waveguide,
- the first conductor region is formed from a first thermoplastic material and the second conductor region is formed from a second thermoplastic material, and
- the first thermoplastic material has a higher effective permittivity than the second thermoplastic material.
A method for producing a dielectric waveguide, the method comprising:
- forming a first conductor region from a first thermoplastic material;
- forming a second conductor region from a second thermoplastic material;
- and
- joining the first conductor region and the second conductor region by connecting the first conductor region to the second conductor region on an outer side extending along a direction of wave propagation.
