Abstract
A system for facilitating ray trace operations with shared traversal performs a pre-test operation that includes testing one or more volumes against an acceleration structure associated with a virtual environment to identify a set of candidate nodes of the acceleration structure. The virtual environment comprises one or more virtual objects defined by one or more object components. The system also performs a ray trace operation based upon the set of candidate nodes of the acceleration structure.

A system for facilitating ray trace operations with shared traversal, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more hardware storage devices that store instructions that are executable by the one or more processors to configure the system to:
- perform a pre-test operation, the pre-test operation comprising:
- testing one or more volumes against an acceleration structure associated with a virtual environment to identify a set of candidate nodes of the acceleration structure, the virtual environment comprising one or more virtual objects defined by one or more object components;
- and
- perform a ray trace operation based upon the set of candidate nodes of the acceleration structure.
A method for facilitating ray trace operations with shared traversal, comprising:
- performing a pre-test operation, the pre-test operation comprising:
- testing one or more volumes against an acceleration structure associated with a virtual environment to identify a set of candidate nodes of the acceleration structure, the virtual environment comprising one or more virtual objects defined by one or more object components;
- and
- performing a ray trace operation based upon the set of candidate nodes of the acceleration structure.
One or more hardware storage devices that store instructions that are executable by one or more processors of a system to configure the system to:
- perform a pre-test operation, the pre-test operation comprising:
- testing one or more volumes against an acceleration structure associated with a virtual environment to identify a set of candidate nodes of the acceleration structure, the virtual environment comprising one or more virtual objects defined by one or more object components;
- and
- perform a ray trace operation based upon the set of candidate nodes of the acceleration structure.
