Pump motor unit comprising an integrated cooling system for an electronics component

A pump-motor unit comprising:

• a housing which features a motor space, an electronics space and a pump space having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet;
• an impeller which is rotatably arranged in the pump space in order to deliver a fluid from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet;
• an electric drive motor which is arranged in the motor space and comprises a stator and a rotatable rotor for rotationally driving the impeller;
• and
• an electronics component which is arranged in the electronics space,
• wherein the housing comprises:
• a circumferential wall which extends around a longitudinal axis of the housing and surrounds the drive motor;
• a cooling structure which is arranged axially between the motor space and the electronics space and joined to the circumferential wall of the housing;
• and
• an annular cooling channel comprising a cooling channel inlet connected to a higher-pressure pump space region and a cooling channel outlet connected to a lower-pressure pump space region, in order to channel some of the fluid from the higher-pressure pump space region to the lower-pressure pump space region via the cooling channel in order to cool the electronics component,
• wherein the circumferential wall of the housing forms a joining gap around the longitudinal axis with the cooling structure and
• the cooling channel extends and is sealed off around the longitudinal axis in the region of the joining gap.
