An open-roof assembly for a vehicle roof comprises a moveably arranged closure member having a drive assembly and a control unit with a pinch detection unit. The pinch detection unit comprises a first pinch detection system, a second pinch detection system and a predetermined reference. Each of the first and second pinch detection systems comprises a tracker module configured to compare the movement of the closure member and the reference, the tracker module allowing a tolerance between movement and reference; a deviation module configured to determine a deviation, if the tolerance is exceeded; and pinch determination module configured to determine that a pinch occurs, if the deviation in movement exceeds a threshold. The tolerance of the first pinch detection system is smaller than the tolerance of the second pinch detection system. The threshold of the first pinch detection system is higher that the threshold of the second pinch detection system.
An open-roof assembly for covering or at least partly uncovering an opening in a vehicle roof, the open-roof assembly comprising a moveably arranged closure member, a drive assembly configured to move the closure member and a control unit operatively coupled to the drive assembly and configured to control a movement of the closure member, wherein the control unit comprises a pinch detection unit configured to detect a pinch of the closure member with an object, the pinch detection unit comprising a first pinch detection system, a second pinch detection system and a predetermined reference, the predetermined reference representing an undisturbed movement of the closure member, wherein the first pinch detection system comprises :
A method of detecting a pinch of a moveably arranged closure member of an open-roof assembly, the method comprising:
