Abstract
Compositions that comprise salts, compounds and complexes of 64Zn-enriched zinc, such as 64Zn-enriched zinc aspartate, and further optionally include 85Rb-enriched rubidium salt compounds of general formula 1, below, wherein each of R1 through R14 is independently selected from H, OH, F, Cl, Br, I, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 alkoxy, and NO2, such as the compound of Formula 1 in which R3 is CH3 and all other R groups are H for use to treat a neurodegenerative disease (NDD), such as Parkinson's disease (PD). Methods that entail administering such compositions to treat an NDD, such as PD, optionally in combination with any other treatment for an NDD such as for PD.
Claims18
A method of treating, preventing, or slowing the progression of a neurodegenerative disease comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount a composition comprising:
- an 85Rbe compound of the following formula:
- wherein each of R1 through R14 is independently selected from H, OH, F, Cl, Br, I, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 alkoxy, and NO2 and the 85Rbe is at least 75% 85Rb, and a salt, and/or a compound or complex of 6Zne.
