Abstract
The present disclosure provides electrosurgical apparatus and methods configured to separate two dissimilar materials, such as two different layers of biological tissue. The present disclosure also provides electrosurgical electrodes and electrosurgical apparatus and methods including same.
Claims20
A method for separating two or more dissimilar materials, the method comprising:
- placing a contact surface of an electrode in contact with at least one material of the two or more dissimilar materials;
- and
- sliding the contact surface across and in contact with the at least one material while applying electrosurgical currents via the contact surface to thereby separate the two or more dissimilar materials,
- wherein the contact surface optionally includes a curved profile.

A method for separating at least two dissimilar materials from an article, the method comprising:
- placing a contact surface of an electrode in contact with a surface of an article, the article comprising the at least two dissimilar materials;
- and
- sliding the contact surface across and in contact with the surface of the article while applying electrosurgical currents to the surface of the article via the contact surface to thereby separate the at least two dissimilar materials of the article,
- optionally wherein the contact surface has a curved profile.
