Abstract
Provided herein are compositions and systems comprising an engineered release factor and methods for producing the same. Also provided herein are compositions, systems, and methods for producing a polypeptide comprising a non-canonical amino acid.
Claims32
A composition comprising:
- (a) a first recombinant release factor, wherein the first recombinant release factor is configured to recognize UGA, UAA, UAG, or any combination thereof as a stop codon;
- and
- (b) a second recombinant release factor, wherein the second recombinant release factor is configured to recognize UGA, UAA, UAG, or any combination thereof as a stop codon, and
- wherein the second recombinant release factor comprises an element that allows selective modulation of function of the second recombinant release factor.
