Abstract
A system simultaneously tracks multiple objects. All or a subset of the objects includes a wireless receiver and a transmitter for providing an output. The system includes one or more wireless transmitters that send commands to the wireless receivers of the multiple objects instructing different subsets of the multiple objects to output (via their respective transmitter) at different times. The system also includes object sensors that receive output from the transmitters of the multiple objects and a computer system in communication with the object sensors. The computer system calculates locations of the multiple objects based on the sensed output from the multiple objects.
Claims20
A system for tracking objects at a live sporting event comprising:
- a computer including a processor and a memory operable to receive signal data measured by at least one sensor, wherein the signal data is associated with a multiplicity of objects;
- wherein the multiplicity of objects are configured with at least one tag and/or at least one transponder;
- wherein the computer is operable to determine a location of the multiplicity of objects based on the signal data;
- and
- wherein the computer is further operable to instruct the at least one sensor to change a tracking frequency at which one or more of the multiplicity of objects is tracked and/or a signal emission frequency at which the at least one transponder emits trackable signals based on the location of at least one of the multiplicity of objects.
A system for tracking objects at a live sporting event comprising:
- a computer including a processor and a memory operable to receive signal data measured by at least one sensor at a live sporting event, wherein the signal data is associated with a multiplicity of objects at the live sporting event;
- wherein the multiplicity of objects are configured with at least one tag and/or at least one transponder;
- wherein the at least one sensor has an identification (ID) code;
- wherein the computer is operable to determine locations of the multiplicity of objects based on the signal data;
- wherein the computer is further operable to change at least one sensor frequency based on the ID code of the at least one sensor;
- and
- wherein the computer is further operable to determine at which times the multiplicity of objects are to be tracked based on the at least one sensor frequency.
A system for tracking objects at a live sporting event comprising:
- a computer including a processor and a memory operable to receive data measured by at least one sensor, wherein the data is associated with a multiplicity of objects, and wherein the multiplicity of objects includes at least one player;
- wherein the at least one sensor includes at least one accelerometer;
- wherein the at least one sensor is configured with an identification (ID) code;
- wherein the processor is operable to detect a change in motion based on the at least one accelerometer;
- wherein the processor is operable to determine if the change in motion is sufficient to indicate a predefined force;
- and
- wherein a database maintains a history of impacts that cumulatively indicate risk of brain damage of the at least one player based on the ID code of the at least one accelerometer.
