Abstract
There is disclosed an orthopaedic impactor, comprising: a strike assembly arranged to impart a force to an object; and a winding arranged to receive a current and thereby generate a magnetic field. The winding is arranged to interact with the strike assembly so that, in use, a magnetic field generated by the winding causes the strike assembly to move so as to impart the force to the object.
Claims24
An orthopedic impactor, comprising:
- a strike assembly having a body coupled to a striker, the body having one or more magnets;
- a connector;
- a spacer;
- wherein, a magnetic field, generated using an electric current, is configured to interact with the one or more magnets in the body causing the strike assembly to translate between the connector and the spacer, and the striker to impart a force to at least one of the connector and the spacer.

- a connector;
- and
- a spacer;
- generating a magnetic field using an electric current, wherein the magnetic field is configured to interact with the one or more magnets in the body causing the strike assembly to translate between the connector and the spacer, and the striker to impart a force to at least one of the connector and the spacer.
