Abstract
A glass has a transmittance at a reference thickness of 1.0 mm of at least 65.0% at a wavelength of 260 nm. An amount of ZrO2 in the glass is less than 150 ppm.
Claims16
A glass having a transmittance at a reference thickness of 1.0 mm of at least 65.0% at a wavelength of 260 nm, wherein an amount of ZrO2 in the glass is less than 150 ppm.
A method of producing a glass, comprising:
- melting glass raw materials in a melting tank containing refractory material to produce a glass melt, wherein the glass melt comes into contact with the refractory material of the melting tank, wherein a proportion of ZrO2 in the refractory material of the melting tank is less than 5 wt.-%;
- and
- cooling the glass melt to produce the glass, the glass having a transmittance at a reference thickness of 1.0 mm of at least 65.0% at a wavelength of 260 nm and an amount of ZrO2 in the glass is less than 150 ppm.
A radiation and/or particle detector, comprising:
- a glass having a transmittance at a reference thickness of 1.0 mm of at least 65.0% at a wavelength of 260 nm, wherein an amount of ZrO2 in the glass is less than 150 ppm.
