Abstract
Compositions and methods for increasing the health of aquatic animals, including fish and shrimp, through the use of Bacillus strains capable of controlling pathogenic microorganisms in the gut of aquatic animals, reducing inflammation in the gut of aquatic animals, and increasing the surface area and length of intestinal villi in the gut of aquatic animals.

An extruded pellet comprising viable spores and/or cells of one or more Bacillus strains, said one or more Bacillus strains comprising one or more of the following:
- the Bacillus pumilus strain having the deposit accession number NRRL B-50016;
- the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain having the deposit accession number NRRL B-50017;
- the Bacillus subtilis strain having the deposit accession number NRRL B-50136;
- the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain having the deposit accession number NRRL B-50141;
- the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain having the deposit accession number NRRL B-50151;
- the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain having the deposit accession number NRRL B-50304;
- the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain having the deposit accession number NRRL B-50349;
