Abstract
The present invention is directed to a feed additive comprising at least a fat-soluble vitamin and a process for its manufacture. Further objects of the present invention are feed comprising such feed additive, as well as methods for supplementation and corresponding uses of such feed additives and feed.
Claims12
A feed additive comprising
- a) at least a fat-soluble vitamin in an amount in the range of from 1 to 40 weight-%;
- b) at least a lignosulfonate in an amount in the range of from 5 to 55 weight-%;
- and
- c) at least a compound selected from hexose-dimers, modified hexose-dimers, hexose-oligomers, modified hexose-oligomers, hexose-polymers, modified hexose-polymers, and any mixture thereof in an amount of at least 10 weight-%;
- wherein the lignosulfonate and the compound c) form a matrix in which the fat-soluble vitamin is encapsulated;
- wherein the amount of ethoxyquin in the feed additive is ≤0.5 weight-%;
- and
- wherein the amount of butylated hydroxytoluene in the feed additive is ≤0.5 weight-%, all amounts based on the total weight of the feed additive.

A dispersion comprising
- a) at least a fat-soluble vitamin;
- b) at least a lignosulfonate;
- and
- c) at least a compound selected from hexose-dimers, modified hexose-dimers, hexose-oligomers, modified hexose-oligomers, hexose-polymers, modified hexose-polymers, and any mixture thereof in an amount of at least 10 weight-%;
- d) at least an antioxidant in an amount in the range of from 0 to 15 weight-%;
- wherein the lignosulfonate(s) and the compound c) form a matrix in which the fat-soluble vitamin is encapsulated;
- wherein the amount of ethoxyquin in the dispersion is ≤0.5 weight-%;
- and
- wherein the amount of butylated hydroxytoluene in the dispersion is ≤0.5 weight-%,
- whereby all amounts are based on the total weight of the dry matter of the feed additive.
