Data Recording on Ceramic Material

A device for recording data in a layer of a ceramic material, the device comprising:

• a laser source comprising a picosecond laser or a femtosecond laser;
• a digital micromirror device adapted to emit multiple laser beams;
• collimating optics for collimating laser light emitted by the laser source onto the digital micromirror device;
• a substrate holder for mounting a substrate;
• and
• focusing optics adapted for focusing each of the multiple laser beams emitted by the digital micromirror device onto the substrate mounted on the substrate holder;
• wherein a fluence of each of the multiple laser beams emitted by the digital micromirror device is greater than 100 mJ/cm2.
