Abstract
Devices and methods for filtering, drying, and mechanically processing active pharmaceutical ingredients are generally described.

A filtration device, comprising:
- a filtration medium;
- and
- a rotatable edge comprising a plurality of protrusions extending toward the filtration medium;
- wherein the rotatable edge is configured to sweep an area of the filtration medium during rotation, and
- wherein the filtration device is configured to produce a flowable powder.

A method, comprising:
- rotating an edge comprising a plurality of protrusions extending toward a filtration medium such that the edge sweeps an area of the filtration medium in a clockwise direction;
- and
- rotating the edge such that the edge sweeps an area of the filtration medium in a counterclockwise direction;
- wherein the rotating in the clockwise direction and/or the counterclockwise direction breaks up lumps and/or agglomerates comprising an active pharmaceutical ingredient to produce a flowable powder comprising the active pharmaceutical ingredient.
