Abstract
The present invention relates to a retractable housing assembly for a payment device comprising a housing defining an internal volume, a frame connected to the housing, a carriage operatively connected to the frame, wherein the carriage is adapted to receive a payment device, wherein the carriage is in slidable engagement with the frame. The present invention alleviates one or more issues associated with tampering, vandalism and/or robberies.
Claims14
A retractable housing assembly for a payment device comprising:
- a housing defining an internal volume;
- a frame connected to the housing;
- a carriage operatively connected to the frame, wherein the carriage is adapted to receive a payment device, wherein the carriage is in slidable engagement with the frame;
- and
- to provide access to the payment device.

A method of providing access to a payment device including the steps of:
- providing retractable housing assembly for a payment device comprising a housing defining an internal volume, a frame connected to the housing, a carriage operatively connected to the frame, wherein the carriage is adapted to receive a payment device, wherein the carriage is in slidable engagement with the frame;

- sliding the carriage relative to the frame.
