Abstract
The invention relates to an absorbent article for external use. More specifically, the invention relates to a folded absorbent article having wings and a lotion pattern comprising lotion pattern area(s) disposed on the inner side edges of the wings.
Claims11
A folded absorbent pad having, in its flattened unfolded configuration, a longitudinal centerline and a transverse centerline, the pad comprising:
- a topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, wherein the topsheet and the backsheet are joined to form wings on the longitudinal sides of the pad;
- one or more folding lines that define a front portion, a central portion, and a rear portion of the pad;
- and
- a lotion pattern disposed on the body-facing surface of the topsheet, the lotion pattern comprising at least two lotion pattern areas disposed at the inner side edges of the wings, parallel to the longitudinal centerline,
- wherein the rear portion of the pad is substantially free of lotion pattern areas.
The absorbent pad according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the lotion pattern areas are each about 5 mm to about 20 mm in width, preferably about 10 mm in width.
The absorbent pad according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the front ends of the lotion pattern areas are a distance A of about 30 mm to about 70 mm from a front end of the article.
The absorbent pad according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the distance D between the lotion pattern areas is about 50 mm to about 90 mm, preferably about 60 mm.
The absorbent pad according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the absorbent article comprises a first folding and a second folding line.
The absorbent pad according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the topsheet is a hydrophobic nonwoven sheet.
The absorbent pad according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the topsheet is a hydrophilic nonwoven sheet.
The absorbent pad according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the topsheet is a semi-hydrophilic nonwoven sheet.
The absorbent pad according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein each of the lotion pattern areas comprises about 5 gsm to 20 gsm, preferably about 10 gsm to about 12 gsm of lotion.
