Abstract
A weight loss composition including banaba leaf extract, apple fruit extract, Rhodiola root extract, zinc chelate, and magnesium chelate are described. The weight loss composition may further include gardenia fruit extract, chromium chelate, Salacia extract, berberine, inositol, or mixtures thereof. Embodiments are also directed to a bulk food product and a weight management plan, which may be used in conjunction with the weight loss composition. Embodiments are also directed to kits and methods of use for treating or preventing obesity, promoting weight loss, and improving insulin resistance.

A weight management plan for an individual, comprising:
- a food index based on a weight loss composition, a daily dosage of the composition comprising:
- banaba leaf extra in an amount of about 20 mg to about 100 mg;
- apple fruit extract in an amount of about 30 mg to about 100 mg;
- Rhodiola root extract in an amount of about 140 mg to about 400 mg;
- chromium chelate;
- magnesium chelate;
- and
- zinc chelate.
- a base food allowance based on the gender, age, height, BMI, weight, or life activity of the individual;
- an activity index based on an activity and a time interval for that activity performed by the individual;
- and
- a daily food allowance for the individual based on the food index, the activity index, and the base food allowance.
The weight management plan of claim 4, wherein the daily food allowance is the sum of the base food allowance and the values obtained from the activity index.
A weight management plan containing a meal kit, the meal kit comprising:
- a bulk food product comprising a plurality of meal portions, each meal portion including carbohydrates from a starch source, a protein source selected from a variety of beans, a carbohydrate from a non-starch vegetable source, a fat source, and optionally a lean-meat protein source;
- and
- a weight loss composition, a daily dosage of the composition comprising:
- banaba leaf extra in an amount of about 20 mg to about 100 mg;
- apple fruit extract in an amount of about 30 mg to about 100 mg;
- Rhodiola root extract in an amount of about 140 mg to about 400 mg;
- chromium chelate;
- magnesium chelate;
- and
- zinc chelate.
