Abstract
A composition of matter is provided comprising hierarchically ordered crystalline microporous material having well-defined long-range mesoporous ordering of lamellar symmetry. The composition possesses mesopores having walls of crystalline microporous material and a mass of mesostructure between mesopores of crystalline microporous material. Long-range ordering is defined by presence of secondary peaks in an X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern and/or lamellar symmetry observable by microscopy.

The hydrocracking catalyst as in claim 11, wherein the lamellar mesophase of the hierarchically ordered zeolite or zeolite-type material possess p2 or p1 or pm symmetry.
The hydrocracking catalyst as in claim 11, wherein the lamellar mesophase of the hierarchically ordered zeolite or zeolite-type material possess p2 symmetry and secondary peaks in XRD are present at a (200) reflection.
The hydrocracking catalyst as in claim 11, wherein long-range ordering of the hierarchically ordered zeolite or zeolite-type material is observable by microscopy viewing an electron beam parallel or perpendicular to a zone axis.

The hydrocracking catalyst as in claim 11, wherein said hierarchically ordered zeolite or zeolite-type material is a zeolite having a framework selected from the group consisting of AEI, *BEA, CHA, FAU, MFI, MOR, LTL, LTA and MWW.
The hydrocracking catalyst as in claim 11, wherein said hierarchically ordered zeolite or zeolite-type material is a zeolite having FAU framework.
A hydrocracking catalyst comprising hierarchically ordered zeolite or zeolite-type material, an inorganic oxide component as a binder, and an active metal component, wherein the hierarchically ordered zeolite or zeolite-type material possesses well-defined long-range mesoporous ordering of lamellar mesophase symmetry comprising mesopores having walls of zeolite or zeolite-type material and a mass of mesostructure between mesopores of zeolite or zeolite-type material, whereby the long-range ordering is defined by the presence of secondary peaks in an X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern and/or lamellar symmetry observable by microscopy.
