Abstract
A communications access point may provide access to a wireless communications network to a user device located at a first location. The communications access point may determine that the user device is moving from the first location to a second location where access to the wireless network is limited or not available. In response to the determination, the communications access point may provide access to the wireless network at the second location by extending a coverage area of the wireless network.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving information indicating movement of a plurality of user devices;
- predicting, based on the receiving, a density of the plurality of user devices;
- and
- extending, based on the predicting and to the plurality of user devices, access to a wireless network.
A method comprising:
- receiving information indicating that each user device of a plurality of user devices is moving to a location outside of a first area covered by a wireless network;
- predicting, based on the receiving, a density of the plurality of user devices in a second area that includes each location;
- and
- extending, based on the predicting and to the second area, access to the wireless network.
A method comprising:
- providing, based on first location density information, access to a wireless network to a plurality of devices located in a first wireless coverage area;
- receiving information indicating movement of the plurality of devices;
- predicting, based on the receiving, that the plurality of devices will move to a point of interest outside of the first wireless coverage area;
- determining, based on the predicting, second location density information for the point of interest;
- and
- modifying, based on the determining, a range of an access point to provide a second wireless coverage area that includes the point of interest.
