Abstract
A device may include a processor configured to send a plurality of attach requests to a base station using a radio access technology (RAT) and determine that each of the plurality of attach requests has failed. The processor may be further configured to override a triggering of a backoff timer, wherein the UE device is barred from attaching using the RAT if the backoff timer is triggered and running, in response to determining that each of the plurality of attach requests has failed, and send another attach request to the base station using the RAT during a time period associated with the backoff timer.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- sending, by a user equipment (UE) device, a plurality of attach requests to a base station using a radio access technology (RAT);
- determining, by the UE device, that each of the plurality of attach requests has failed;
- overriding, by the UE device, a triggering of a backoff timer, wherein the UE device is barred from attaching using the RAT if the backoff timer is triggered and running, in response to determining that each of the plurality of attach requests has failed;
- and
- sending, by the UE device, another attach request to the base station using the RAT during a time period associated with the backoff timer.
A user equipment (UE) device comprising:
- a processor configured to:
- send a plurality of attach requests to a base station using a radio access technology (RAT);
- determine that each of the plurality of attach requests has failed;
- override a triggering of a backoff timer, wherein the UE device is barred from attaching using the RAT if the backoff timer is triggered and running, in response to determining that each of the plurality of attach requests has failed;
- and
- send another attach request to the base station using the RAT during a time period associated with the backoff timer.
A non-transitory computer-readable memory device storing instructions executable one a processor, the non-transitory computer-readable memory device comprising:
- one or more instructions to send, by a user equipment (UE) device, a plurality of attach requests to a base station using a radio access technology (RAT);
- one or more instructions to determine that each of the plurality of attach requests has failed;
- one or more instructions to override a triggering of a backoff timer, wherein the UE device is barred from attaching using the RAT if the backoff timer is triggered and running, in response to determining that each of the plurality of attach requests has failed;
- and
- one or more instructions to send, by the UE device, another attach request to the base station using the RAT during a time period associated with the backoff timer.
