Symbol set selection

A gaming system comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions, that when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
• communicate data that results in a display, by a display device, of a plurality of symbol sets;
• communicate data that results in a display, by the display device, of an indication of one of the symbol sets as a selected symbol set;
• communicate data that results in a display, by the display device, for each of the symbol sets, of a separate randomly determined outcome for that symbol set;
• communicate data that results in a display, by the display device, for each of the symbol sets, of a determined amount for that symbol set based on the determined outcome for that symbol set;
• responsive to the determined amount for the selected symbol set being greater than the determined amounts for one of the other symbol sets, communicate data that results in a display, by the display device, of an indication that the determined amount for the selected symbol set is greater than the determined amount for one of the other symbol sets and an indication of a change to the determined amount for the selected symbol set, wherein the change is based on the determined amount for one of the other symbol sets;
• and
• if the determined amount for the selected symbol set is not greater than any of the determined amounts for each of the other symbol sets, communicate data that results in a display, by the display device, of an indication of the determined amount for the selected symbol set.

A gaming system comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions, that when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
• communicate data that results in a display, by a display device, of a plurality of symbol sets;
• communicate data that results in a display, by the display device, of an indication of one of the symbol sets as a selected symbol set;
• communicate data that results in a display, by the display device, for each of the symbol sets, of a separate randomly determined outcome for that symbol set;
• communicate data that results in a display, by the display device, for each of the symbol sets, of a determined amount for that symbol set based on the determined outcome for that symbol set;
• responsive to the determined amount for the selected symbol set being greater than the determined amounts for all of the other symbol sets, communicate data that results in a display, by the display device, of an indication that the determined amount for the selected symbol set is greater than the determined amounts for one of the other symbol sets and an indication of a change to a total amount for the selected symbol set, wherein the total amount is based on the determined amounts for at least one of the symbol sets;
• and
• if the determined amount for the selected symbol set is not greater than any of the determined amounts for each of the other symbol sets, communicate data that results in a display, by the display device, of an indication of the determined amount for the selected symbol set.
