Abstract
An initial bill of materials and an alternative manufacturing list to assemble a printed circuit board are received. An intermediate bill of materials is generated and stored in a database. The intermediate bill of materials includes, for each of one or more components comprising the printed circuit board, one or more corresponding specifically-identified parts approved to be used for the one or more components. The intermediate bill of materials is updated to add one or more specifically-identified parts not included in the initial bill of materials or the alternative manufacturing list, based at least in part on a determination that a specifically-identified part listed in the initial bill of materials or the alternative manufacturing list is unavailable.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- a communication interface configured to receive an initial bill of materials (BOM) and an alternative manufacturing list (AML) to assemble a printed circuit board;
- and
- a processor coupled to the communication interface and configured to:
- generate and store in a database, an intermediate BOM that includes, for each of one or more components comprising the printed circuit board, one or more corresponding specifically-identified parts approved to be used for the one or more components;
- and
- update the intermediate BOM to add one or more specifically-identified parts not included in the initial BOM or the AML, based at least in part on a determination that a specifically-identified part listed in the initial BOM or the AML is unavailable.
A method, comprising:
- receiving an initial bill of materials (BOM) and an alternative manufacturing list (AML) to assemble a printed circuit board;
- generating and storing in a database, an intermediate BOM that includes, for each of one or more components comprising the printed circuit board, one or more corresponding specifically-identified parts approved to be used for the one or more components;
- and
- updating the intermediate BOM to add one or more specifically-identified parts not included in the initial BOM or the AML, based at least in part on a determination that a specifically-identified part listed in the initial BOM or the AML is unavailable.
A computer program product embodied in a non-transitory computer readable medium and comprising computer instructions for:
- receiving an initial bill of materials (BOM) and an alternative manufacturing list (AML) to assemble a printed circuit board;
- generating and storing in a database, an intermediate BOM that includes, for each of one or more components comprising the printed circuit board, one or more corresponding specifically-identified parts approved to be used for the one or more components;
- and
- updating the intermediate BOM to add one or more specifically-identified parts not included in the initial BOM or the AML, based at least in part on a determination that a specifically-identified part listed in the initial BOM or the AML is unavailable.
