Abstract
This disclosure relates to an method for the nanoscale creation of functional defects in 2D materials with the ability to control their dimensions and compositions.
Claims20
A method for introducing a defect into a two-dimensional material comprising:
- a.) contacting a surface of the two-dimensional material with a nanoscale tip of a cantilever;
- and
- b.) exposing the surface of the two-dimensional material at the site of contact with the nanoscale tip to a laser pulse to introduce a defect in the two-dimensional material.
The method for introducing a defect into a two-dimensional material according to claim wherein the laser pulse has a wavelength of about 1000 nm to about 10000 nm.
