Abstract
A propellant management device (PMD) may reduce or prevent liquid propellant from entering a thruster manifold (TM) or gas venting manifold (GVM) while allowing propellant vapor and/or gas to pass through the PMD to allow for thrust or venting.
Claims20
A propellant management system, comprising:
- a propellant management device (PMD) configured to reduce or prevent liquid propellant from entering a thruster manifold or gas venting manifold while allowing propellant vapor and/or gas to pass through the PMD to allow for thrust or venting.
A propellant management system, comprising:
- a pressure management device (PMD) placed inside of a tank, wherein the PMD is configured to reduce or prevent liquid propellant from entering a thruster manifold or gas venting manifold while allowing propellant vapor and/or gas to pass through the PMD to allow for thrust or venting;
- and
- a shaft connecting the PMD to a thruster manifold and a gas venting manifold, wherein the shaft is configured to allow the propellant vapor and/or gas to pass through to the thruster manifold or the gas venting manifold.
A propellant management system, comprising:
- a propellant management device (PMD) configured to reduce or prevent liquid propellant from entering a thruster manifold or gas venting manifold while allowing propellant vapor and/or gas to pass through the PMD to allow for thrust or venting, wherein
- the PMD comprises a junction on the inside of a tank, the junction being constructed with hydrophobic material, the hydrophobic material configured to create low interfacial tension between the junction and the liquid propellent, repelling the liquid propellant from the surface of the junction.
