Abstract
The present invention relates to compounds, compositions, and combined preparations for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma, diagnostic methods, and methods for selecting therapeutic agents useful in the prevention, improvement, relief, and/or treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.

A method for treating or preventing hepatocellular carcinoma in a subject, the method comprising administering a compound of formula (I):
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in combination with an antiangiogenic agent, to a subject in need thereof,
- wherein:
- R1 is H, OH, or alkoxy;
- R2 is H or CH3;
- R4 is H or CH3;
- R3 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, or heterocycloalkyl.
A pharmaceutical composition, comprising a compound of formula (I):
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and an antiangiogenic agent.

- b) determining an SF3B1 activity in the subject at the established concentration of the compound,
