Abstract
A novel maize variety designated X95V287 and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are produced by crossing inbred maize varieties. Methods for producing a maize plant by crossing hybrid maize variety X95V287 with another maize plant are disclosed. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into X95V287 through backcrossing or genetic transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are described. Maize variety X95V287, the seed, the plant produced from the seed, and variants, mutants, and minor modifications of maize variety X95V287 are provided. Methods for producing maize varieties derived from maize variety X95V287 and methods of using maize variety X95V287 are disclosed.
Claims18
A seed of hybrid maize variety X95V287, representative seed produced by crossing a first plant of variety 1PNCU10 with a second plant of variety 1PUQG87, wherein representative seed of the varieties 1PNCU10 and 1PUQG87 have been deposited under ATCC Accession Numbers PTA-)000(and PTA-)00(X, respectively.
The hybrid maize variety X95V287 seed of claim 5, wherein the locus conversion confers a property selected from the group consisting of male sterility, herbicide tolerance, insect resistance, disease resistance, waxy starch, modified fatty acid metabolism, modified phytic acid metabolism, modified carbohydrate metabolism and modified protein metabolism.
The hybrid maize variety X95V287 seed of claim 5, further comprising a seed treatment on the surface of the seed.
A method for producing nucleic acids, the method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the hybrid maize variety X95V287 seed of claim 5.
A plant or plant part grown from the hybrid maize variety X95V287 seed of claim 5, the plant part comprising at least one cell of hybrid maize variety X95V287 further comprising the single locus conversion. A method of producing a commodity plant product comprising starch, syrup, silage, fat or protein, the method comprising producing the commodity plant product from the plant or plant part of claim 9.
A method for producing a hybrid maize variety X95V287 seed further comprising a locus conversion, the method comprising crossing a first plant of variety 1PNCU10 with a second plant of variety 1PUQG87, representative seed of the varieties 1PNCU10 and 1PUQG87 having been deposited under ATCC Accession Numbers PTA-X)0(X and PTA-XXXX, respectively, wherein at least one of the varieties 1PNCU10 and 1PUQG87 further comprises the locus conversion.
