Abstract
A display device includes: a first display panel having a first resolution; a second display panel having a second resolution; and a first multi-channel lens and a second multi-channel lens disposed on one surface of the first display panel and including a plurality of channels through which light emitted from the one surface of the first display panel passes, where the second resolution is higher than the first resolution.
Claims24
A display device comprising:
- a first display panel having a first resolution;
- a second display panel having a second resolution;
- and
- a first multi-channel lens and a second multi-channel lens disposed on one surface of the first display panel and one surface of the second display panel and comprising a plurality of channels through which light emitted from the one surface of the first display panel and the one surface of the second display panel passes,
- wherein the second resolution is higher than the first resolution, and
- the first display panel surrounds the second display panel in a plan view.
A display device comprising:
- a first display panel having a first resolution;
- a second display panel having a second resolution;
- a first multi-channel lens and a second multi-channel lens disposed on one surface of the first display panel and comprising a plurality of channels through which light emitted from the one surface of the first display panel passes;
- an eye tracking unit configured to detect a user's gaze direction;
- and
- a light steerer configured to control a direction of light emitted from the second display panel based on the gaze direction,
- wherein the second resolution is higher than the first resolution, and
- the second display panel overlaps the first display panel in a plan view.
A display device comprising:
- a first display panel having a first resolution;
- a second display panel having a second resolution and not overlapping the first display panel in a thickness direction of the first display panel;
- a first multi-channel lens and a second multi-channel lens disposed on one surface of the first display panel and comprising a plurality of channels through which light emitted from the one surface of the first display panel passes;
- an eye tracking unit configured to detect a user's gaze direction;
- and
- an optical path changing member disposed on an optical path of light emitted from the second display panel to control a direction of the light emitted from the second display panel based on the gaze direction,
- wherein the second resolution is higher than the first resolution.
A method of controlling a display device, comprising:
- detecting a user's pupil position by an eye tracking unit;
- synchronizing an image signal inputted to a first display panel having a first resolution with an image signal inputted to a second display panel having a second resolution;
- generating, as a second display image of a second display panel, an image corresponding to a foveal vision from an entire image based on the detected pupil position;
- and
- displaying a first display image corresponding to the entire image except for the second display image by the first display panel and displaying the second display image by the second display panel.
