Abstract
A transparent emissive device is provided. The device may include one or more OLEDs having an anode, a cathode, and an organic emissive layer disposed between the anode and the cathode. In some configurations, the OLEDs may be non-transparent. The device may also include one or more locally transparent regions, which, in combination with the non-transparent OLEDs, provides an overall device transparency of 5% or more.
Claims19
A device comprising:
- a first transparent substrate;
- a first organic light emitting diode (OLED), wherein the first OLED is at least one of a bottom-emitting OLED or a top-emitting OLED, that is disposed over at least a portion of the first transparent substrate;
- a second transparent substrate;
- and
- a second OLED, wherein the second OLED at least one of a bottom-emitting OLED or a top-emitting OLED that is disposed over at least a portion of the second transparent substrate;
- wherein the device has an overall transparency of at least 5%.

A device comprising:
- a first transparent substrate;
- a first plurality of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), wherein each OLED of the first plurality of OLEDs is at least one of a bottom-emitting OLED or a top-emitting OLED, that are disposed over the first transparent substrate;
- a second transparent substrate;
- and
- a second plurality of OLEDs, wherein each OLED of the second plurality of OLEDs is at least one of a bottom-emitting OLED or a top-emitting OLED, that are disposed over the transparent substrate,
- wherein the device has an overall transparency of at least 5%.
