An operation status notification method of an electronic musical instrument including an input device that receives an input operation and a display, the operation status notification method comprising:

• a first process upon duration of a detected continuation of the input operation being a reference time or longer;
• a second process upon duration of a detected continuation of the input operation being less than the reference time;
• and
• causing the display to display a content from which it is determinable whether or not duration of a detected continuation of the input operation being the reference time or longer.

A non-transitory recording medium storing a program that causes a computer of an electronic musical instrument including an input device that receives an input operation and a display to perform:

• first execution in which a first process is performed upon duration of a detected continuation of the input operation being a reference time or longer;
• second execution in which a second process is performed upon duration of a detected continuation of the input operation being less than the reference time;
• and
• notification control in which the display displays a content from which it is determinable whether or not duration of a detected continuation of the input operation being the reference time or longer.
