Systems and methods for independent application design and deployment to platform host

A system for creating, sharing and integrating applications, comprising:

• a processing system having one or more processors that execute computer-executable instructions that cause the processing system to:
• communicate, by a host platform, a framework package corresponding to an application framework, wherein the framework package comprises a software abstraction for providing generic functionality in developing a vendor application;
• receive, by the host platform, an application package corresponding to a vendor application, wherein the application package comprises a plurality of metadata files, control method descriptions, and content files;
• and
• integrate the application package to generate an integration of the vendor application based on the application framework.

A computer program product for creating, sharing and integrating applications comprising computer-readable program code capable of being executed by at least one processor when retrieved from a non-transitory computer-readable medium, the program code comprising instructions configured to cause:

• communicating, by a host platform, a framework package corresponding to an application framework, wherein the framework package comprises a software abstraction for providing generic functionality in developing a vendor application;
• receiving, by the host platform, an application package corresponding to a vendor application, wherein the application package comprises a plurality of metadata files, control method descriptions, and content files;
• and
• integrating the application package to generate an integration of the vendor application based on the application framework.
