Preparation of a structural tape-from-paste (tfp) adhesive with blue light (visible) initiated b-stage cure

A partially cured precursor of structural adhesive composition, comprising:

• a) a polymeric material comprising the self-polymerization reaction product of a polymerizable material comprising a radiation self-polymerizable multi-functional compound;
• b) optionally, some residual free-radical polymerization initiator for the radiation self-polymerizable multi-functional compound;
• c) a thermally curable resin;
• and
• d) a thermal curing initiator for the thermally curable resin;
• wherein the thermally curable resin(s) are uncured and are embedded into the polymeric material comprising the self-polymerization reaction product of a polymerizable material comprising a radiation self-polymerizable multi-functional compound;
• and
• wherein the free-radical polymerization initiator is activated by visible light.
