Abstract
Provided is a monomer composition comprising methyl methacrylate and α-olefin, wherein a methacrylic resin obtained by polymerization of a monomer mixture comprising the monomer composition guarantees excellent heat resistance and has excellent weather resistance, in which yellowing is suppressed.

A monomer composition comprising:
- methyl methacrylate;
- and
- an α-olefin.
A methacrylic resin comprising an α-olefin monomer.
A method for producing a methacrylic resin, comprising the steps of:
- radically polymerizing a monomer mixture which contains a monomer composition containing methyl methacrylate and an α-olefin,
- wherein a content of said at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a compound of a transition metal and a compound of a Group 13 element is 7×104 ppm by mass or less with respect to a total mass of the α-olefin.
