Abstract
The present application provides a process of preparing 3,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene, comprising reacting 3-chloro-1,1,1-trifluoropropane with a base in an aqueous solvent component in the absence of a phase transfer catalyst.

A process of preparing a mixture of 3,3,3-trifluoropropene (HFO-1243zf), the process comprising reacting 3-chloro-1,1,1-trifluoropropane (HCFC-253fb) with a base in a liquid phase comprising an aqueous solvent in the presence of an amine and in the absence of a phase transfer catalyst.
A process for identifying a major refrigerant component comprising adding at least one of about 0.01 mole percent or less 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (1233xf) and about 0.01 mole percent or less 1,1,1,3-tetrafluoropropane (254fb) to the major refrigerant component.
A composition comprising:
- a refrigerant lubricant selected from one of mineral oils, alkylbenzenes, synthetic paraffins, synthetic naphthenes, poly(alpha)olefins, polyol esters (POE), polyalkylene glycols (PAG), polyvinyl ethers (PVE), or perfluoropolyethers (PFPE), or mixtures thereof;
- and
- at least one of 3,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene (1243zf), 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (1233xf), 1,1,1,3-tetrafluoropropane (254fb), and 1,1,1-trifluoro-2,3-dichloropropane (243db).
