Abstract
Provided herein are the compositions and methods of manufacturing of injectable gels of cross-linked hyaluronic acid associated to a varying degree with hydroxyapatite.
Claims21
A process of manufacturing of a gel product comprising cross-linked hyaluronic acid and hydroxyapatite, said process comprising:
- combining in an aqueous medium hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof, a cross-linking agent, and conducting a cross-linking reaction in the presence of a first portion of hydroxyapatite;
- completing the cross-linking reaction;
- and
- incorporating a second portion of hydroxyapatite into the so-formed gel.

A gel product comprising:
- (i) cross-linked hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof,
- (ii) hydroxyapatite, and
- (iii) water,
- wherein the concentration of said hydroxyapatite is above 45 weight percent of total weight of the gel.
