The invention relates to a smoking article having a cylindrical shape with a longitudinal axis running through respective base areas of a distal end and a mouth end of the smoking article. The smoking article segments are at least in part wrapped in a circumferential wrapper and arranged subsequently in from the distal to the mouth end as follows: a. a tobacco segment comprising tobacco or tobacco derived smokable material, b. a cooling segment having a first flow path from the tobacco segment to a filter segment, c. the filter segment comprising a second flow path from the cooling segment to the mouth end. The filter segment comprises a tobacco product including tobacco particles having an average particle size of 30 μm and a dispersion medium for dispersing the tobacco particles. The invention also comprises a method for manufacturing such a smoking article.
