Systems and methods for light-weight networked volumetric asset control

A computer-implemented system comprising:

• memory;
• control circuitry configured to;
• identify an attribute of an entity represented in a three-dimensional (3D) media asset;
• generate a modified version of the 3D media asset by modifying the attribute of the entity;
• receive, from a client device, a request to access at least a portion of the 3D media asset;
• determine, based on a policy associated with the 3D media asset and stored in the memory, whether to enable access to the at least a portion of the 3D media asset;
• in response to determining to enable access to the at least a portion of the 3D media asset, transmit to the client device an indication of how to process the modified version of the 3D media asset to reconstruct the 3D media asset comprising the attribute as identified prior to the modifying;
• and
• cause the client device to generate for display the 3D media asset based on the processing of the modified version of the 3D media asset.
