Abstract
There is includes a method and apparatus comprising computer code configured to cause a hardware processor or processors to perform intra prediction among a plurality of reference lines, to set a plurality of intra prediction modes for a zero reference line nearest to a current block of the intra prediction among non-zero reference lines, and to set one or more most probable modes for one of the non-zero reference lines.
Claims20
A method for video decoding comprising:
- receiving a video bitstream comprising a reference picture and a compressed data block to be reconstructed by an intra prediction of the compressed data block;
- determining, from the video bitstream, whether a reference line index signaled in the video bitstream indicates a zero reference line;
- in response to determining that the reference line index indicates the zero reference line, determining 6 most probable modes (MPMs) applicable to the intra prediction of the compressed data block;
- in response to determining that the reference line index does not indicate the zero reference line, determining 5 MPMs applicable to the intra prediction of the compressed data block, wherein the planar mode is excluded from the 5 MPMs;
- and
- reconstructing the compressed data block based on the determined MPMs.
An apparatus comprising:
- at least one memory configured to store computer program code;
- at least one hardware processor configured to access the computer program code and operate as instructed by the computer program code to implement:
- receiving a video bitstream comprising a reference picture and a compressed data block to be reconstructed by an intra prediction of the compressed data block;
- determining, from the video bitstream, whether a reference line index signaled in the video bitstream indicates a zero reference line;
- in response to determining that the reference line index indicates the zero reference line, determining 6 most probable modes (MPMs) applicable to the intra prediction of the compressed data block;
- in response to determining that the reference line index does not indicate the zero reference line, determining 5 MPMs applicable to the intra prediction of the compressed data block, wherein the planar mode is excluded from the 5 MPMs;
- and
- reconstructing the compressed data block based on the determined MPMs.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a program causing a computer to execute a process, the process comprising:
- receiving a video bitstream comprising a reference picture and a compressed data block to be reconstructed by an intra prediction of the compressed data block;
- determining, from the video bitstream, whether a reference line index signaled in the video bitstream indicates a zero reference line;
- in response to determining that the reference line index indicates the zero reference line, determining 6 most probable modes (MPMs) applicable to the intra prediction of the compressed data block;
- in response to determining that the reference line index does not indicate the zero reference line, determining 5 MPMs applicable to the intra prediction of the compressed data block, wherein the planar mode is excluded from the 5 MPMs;
- and
- reconstructing the compressed data block based on the determined MPMs.
