Abstract
Embodiments are provided for replacing media items in a queue of a playback device. An example implementation involves receiving, at the playback device, first data indicating an addition of a first media item to a queue. The playback device determines that the first media item is no longer accessible to the playback device at a later second time. The playback device initiates a query for a media item similar to the first media item and receives second data indicating that a second media item has replaced the first media item in the queue, the second media item being similar to the first media item. In response, the playback device initiates playback of the second media item on the playback device.

A computing system comprising at least one server, the at least one server comprising:
- a network interface;
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that are executable by the at least one processor such that the at least one server is configured to:
- receive, via the network interface from a first controller on a first control device, first configuration data of a first streaming media service;
- add the first streaming media service to available content sources of a media playback system comprising multiple playback devices, wherein media items from the available content sources are playable by the multiple playback devices;
- receive, via the network interface from a second controller on a second control device, second configuration data of a second streaming media service;
- add the second streaming media service to the available content sources of the media playback system;
- cause, via the network interface, multiple controllers to display respective graphical representations of the available content sources, wherein the respective graphical representations comprise a first graphical representation representing the first streaming media service and a second graphical representation representing the second streaming audio service;
- receive, via the network interface, data representing selections of particular audio content from among the available content sources to add to at least one queue corresponding to one or more playback devices of the media playback system;
- and
- cause, via the network interface, the one or more playback devices of the media playback system to play back the particular audio content from the at least one queue.
At least one non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that are executable by at least one processor such that at least one server of a computing system is configured to:
- receive, via a network interface from a first controller on a first control device, first configuration data of a first streaming media service;
- add the first streaming media service to available content sources of a media playback system comprising multiple playback devices, wherein media items from the available content sources are playable by the multiple playback devices;
- receive, via the network interface from a second controller on a second control device, second configuration data of a second streaming media service;
- add the second streaming media service to the available content sources of the media playback system;
- cause, via the network interface, multiple controllers to display respective graphical representations of the available content sources, wherein the respective graphical representations comprise a first graphical representation representing the first streaming media service and a second graphical representation representing the second streaming audio service;
- receive, via the network interface, data representing selections of particular audio content from among the available content sources to add to at least one queue corresponding to one or more playback devices of the media playback system;
- and
- cause, via the network interface, the one or more playback devices of the media playback system to play back the particular audio content from the at least one queue.
A method to be performed by a computing system comprising at least one server, the method comprising:
- receiving, via a network interface from a first controller on a first control device, first configuration data of a first streaming media service;
- adding the first streaming media service to available content sources of a media playback system comprising multiple playback devices, wherein media items from the available content sources are playable by the multiple playback devices;
- receiving, via the network interface from a second controller on a second control device, second configuration data of a second streaming media service;
- adding the second streaming media service to the available content sources of the media playback system;
- causing, via the network interface, multiple controllers to display respective graphical representations of the available content sources, wherein the respective graphical representations comprise a first graphical representation representing the first streaming media service and a second graphical representation representing the second streaming audio service;
- receiving, via the network interface, data representing selections of particular audio content from among the available content sources to add to at least one queue corresponding to one or more playback devices of the media playback system;
- and
- causing, via the network interface, the one or more playback devices of the media playback system to play back the particular audio content from the at least one queue.
