Abstract
A stand mixer includes an outer casing and a mixing motor disposed within the outer casing. A motor shaft is coupled to the mixing motor such that the motor shaft is rotatable by the mixing motor. A heatsink is mounted on the motor shaft such that the heatsink is in thermal communication with the motor shaft.
Claims18
A stand mixer comprising:
- an outer casing;
- a mixing motor disposed within the outer casing;
- a motor shaft coupled to the mixing motor such that the motor shaft is rotatable by the mixing motor;
- and
- a heatsink mounted on the motor shaft such that the heatsink is in thermal communication with the motor shaft.
A method of cooling a stand mixer that includes a mixing motor disposed within an outer casing, a motor shaft coupled to the mixing motor such that the motor shaft is rotatable by the mixing motor, and a heatsink mounted on the motor shaft such that the heatsink is in thermal communication with the motor shaft, the method comprising:
- operating the mixing motor and thereby rotating the motor shaft and the heatsink,
- wherein the heatsink dissipates heat produced by the operation of the motor into ambient air.
