Abstract
A wearable electronic device includes a first device housing coupled to a second device housing by at least one strap. The wearable electronic device includes heat generating electronics situated within the first device housing. A heat pipe thermally coupled to the heat generating electronics transfers thermal energy from the heat generating electronics through the at least one neck strap to the second device housing.
Claims20
A wearable electronic device, comprising:
- a first device housing coupled to a second device housing by at least one strap;
- heat generating electronics situated within the first device housing;
- and
- a heat pipe thermally coupled to the heat generating electronics, the heat pipe transferring thermal energy from the heat generating electronics through the at least one strap to the second device housing.
1 more element
A method of cooling a wearable electronic device, the method comprising:
- removing thermal energy from a first device housing of the wearable electronic device;
- transferring the thermal energy through a flexible heat pipe passing from the first device housing, through a strap coupling the first device housing to a second device housing, and into the second device housing;
- and
- dissipating the thermal energy through the second device housing.
1 more element
A wearable electronic device, comprising:
- an anterior pendant comprising heat generating electronics situated therein;
- a posterior pendant comprising a heat spreader situated therein;
- a first neck strap coupling a first side of the anterior pendant to a first side of the posterior pendant;
- a second neck strap coupling a second side of the anterior pendant to a second side of the posterior pendant;
- and
- a flexible heat pipe thermally coupled to the heat generating electronics and the heat spreader, the flexible heat pipe transferring thermal energy from the heat generating electronics to the heat spreader for dissipation through the posterior pendant.
