Abstract
An electronic device can include a base portion and a display portion rotatably mounted to the base portion. The display portion can have a display housing including a trim that at least partially defines an orifice and a portion of the exterior surface of the electronic device. A display call can be positioned at the orifice in contact with the trim and can be secured to the display housing.

An electronic device, comprising:
- a display cell;
- a housing comprising a sidewall that defines a channel;
- a trim disposed inside the channel, the trim at least partially defining an orifice and a portion of an exterior surface of the electronic device;
- and
- a datum positioned on the sidewall adjacent to and laterally inward of a trim portion positioned at least partially below the display cell, the datum being secured to the housing, and the datum being in contact with the display cell.

An electronic device, comprising:
- a housing comprising a sidewall that defines an internal volume and a channel laterally outward of the internal volume;
- a backlight disposed in the internal volume;
- a display layer positioned above the backlight and extending laterally above the sidewall;
- a trim disposed inside the channel;
- and
- a shim attached to a surface of the sidewall adjacent to and laterally inward of a portion of the trim positioned at least partially below the display layer, the shim being secured to the housing, and the shim being in contact with the display layer.

- a housing comprising a sidewall that defines a channel;
- a trim disposed inside the channel;
- a display datum positioned on the sidewall adjacent to and laterally inward of a trim portion positioned at least partially below the display cell, the display datum being secured to the housing, and the display datum being in contact with the display cell;
- and
- a fixture datum positioned on the sidewall adjacent to and laterally outward of the trim.
